Hello Everyone, We are curious as to everyone's use of LastFM. We would like as many fans to acquire an account and scrobble your music - especially Nosound!. The more people who register Nosound listens, the greater the chance Nosound will get into regular rotation and played to people who have not heard of them (yet).
Scrobbling is allowing LastFM to track your listening habits to 1) Play songs you will like on your personal radio station 2) Figure which bands should be put into the listening rotation

I guess I use mine the same as you. Well, I guess research bands is not how I would describe it, but sometimes I just don't know what to listen to, so I will kick that on and in doing so discover quite a bit of new music. Therefore I think this poll is missing an option which is 'to force myself into bankruptcy much quicker'!
I do have scrobbling on for the most part, and certainly have scrobbled this band cos I happen to listen to them a good bit, but I don't scrobble all the time. Mine is linked to my iTunes, so it's just automatic. If I use the radio application, I tend to use my history a lot and pull up certain bands I have tagged in there or music styles. Nosound is linked to some great stuff. Porcupine Tree I don't play as often cos they tend to get linked to a lot of prog bands I don't really care for, but Bass Communion gets me some fantastic results.
Oh and I don't have a personal radio station.
Thinking about research - I do use the website for that a little, and also to keep track of what shows I'm going to. Great for finding concert listings, but do be careful - sometimes people list shows in my area that are totally wrong!

I scrobble my iTunes plays whether that be MP3s or CDs played from my "mission control" laptop. But that's about half my listening. I think I used the 'radio' thing once. I do look at other folks' listening habits and when I see names that I'm unfamiliar with I'll search for their web sites rather than listen to them via LastFM.

I like lastfm. I do a little socializing. I scrobble with windows media player, it is automatic however I prefer to use my stereo system for music. My lastfm listens reflects this. I have used the radio a few times.
I have found some new things to listen too. And, like proggirl have had to watch my spending!!
Lastfm is where I first heard Nosound.
Overall, it is a really useful site and I enjoy it weekly.
