I've never been to a music festival before. I see Pineapple Thief is going to be at Nearfest next year. Probably the only time I'll get to see them.
How does this work? Can you just get tickets to see the band you want? Or do you buy a ticket for the festival? How long do bands play, is it like a full set or do they only get a few songs...
If you've ever been to one let me know your experience!

You get tickets to the festival - there are usually about 8 bands that play. The 'secondary' bands usually get about an hour and headliners get about 1.5 hours. There is also a showcase event Friday night with 2 or three bands, same location, but it's an additional charge. It's a great weekend, great parties, great friends and I will be there! Hopefully Nosound can get on the list one of these years! Regular tickets usually sell out pretty quickly - like the first day, so be on the phones quick. I have been doing the patron program. which is more, but gets you a better pick of seats (depending where in the lottery you get placed). But the hall is fantastic and not a bad seat in it! www.nearfest.com
