Memories Of Machines - Warm Winter (digi-pack cd / ltd edition vinyl pre-order) www.burningshed.com/store/artrock/ Warm Winter is the hugely anticipated debut album by Memories Of Machines, the new project from Tim Bowness (No-Man) and Giancarlo Erra (Nosound). While drawing on the atmospheric nature of their main bands, MoM carves out a unique space for itself with an emphasis placed on direct song-writing and powerful instrumental arrangements, as much as on mood. An assured and emotionally cohesive debut, Warm Winter ably highlights the sympathetic musical chemistry between Bowness and Erra, and includes stellar guest contributions from the likes of Peter Hammill (Van Der Graaf Generator), Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree), Robert Fripp (King Crimson), Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree, No-Man etc), Julianne Regan (All About Eve), Jim Matheos (OSI/Fates Warning) and Huxflux Nettermalm (Paatos). The album, which is available as a digi-book cd and a limited edition heavyweight vinyl release, was mixed by Steven Wilson and mastered by Jon Astley (The Who, Led Zeppelin, Tori Amos). All pre-orders come with a postcard signed by Tim and Giancarlo. Pre-order for 16th May release date.

Hi all, finally after some time, the album is available...I prepared the music on soundcloud as correctly pointed out by proggirl, and we hae also a couple of videos. Here's a Grant Wakefield directed video for an edit of the track At The Centre Of It All (featuring Peter Hammill on guitar and Colin Edwin on double bass): www.youtube.com/watch?v=r_PRRhBPGxQOperating in an atmospheric singer-songwriter territory, the track is representative of half the album (Warm Winter), which also includes a similarly 'Ambient Song' collaboration with Robert Fripp. The other half of the album is more Art Rock in nature and also features contributions from Steven Wilson, Julianne Regan (All About Eve), Huxflux Nettermalm (Paatos) and Jim Matheos (OSI). A Soundcloud page is here - soundcloud.com/memoriesofmachinesAnd we also have a website with another video and links to preorders: www.memoriesofmachines.comFor those who like what they hear, the album can be obtained from: www.burningshed.com/store/artrock/multiproduct/119/2185/

Should be any day. Off tomorrow- hope it comes then! Memories of Machines is my most anticipated purchase this year! The samples sound phenomenal. I love that GE has some beautiful guitar solos, he is such an excellent guitarist.

Absolutely brilliant! THIS is what the last No-Man album only wished it would sound like!! Brilliant all the way through. Who is drumming on the first track? I liked that very much. I will definitely be spending a lot of time with this one. Just had a couple spins so far, but it's grabbed me right away.
The one thing that I felt was missing was Peter Hammill's input. How do you get a master vocalist like Hammill to play on your album and have him playing guitar?? Especially when you have a more than capable guitarist in GE?!? Now I will have to only imagine the emotional impact the pairing of those two voices (Bowness and Hammill) would have. I think they would work absolutely perfectly together. Missed opportunity there I'd think.

I love Giancarlo's guitar playing! What a wonderful soloist. The guitar kicking in at the end of Warm Winter is so, so good. Change Me Once Again is a great track, stands out for me. Also love Beautiful Songs You Should Know. Before We Fall, School Yard Ghosts, all very good. Really, overall this is an excellent release.
I hope we hear more from MoM in the future!
