I am sure most people could set up a PC with their hands tied behind their backs but...
I have never paid for a PC. My little brother worked for a marketing company that sold software and PC for inventories. He has always 'donated' me older PC's. They only have minimal memory, no software worth having. He always used to fix them up for me, or I would take it to the local PC shop and pay for it. Well, I finally did it myself! Nothing big probably, I ordered and added memory, bought a legal copy of vista, a dvd burner, and did all by myself! This one is much nicer than previous donations. Much faster.
Anyway, may be stupid, but I am happy with my accomplishment. Next I am upgrading with a nice sound card and some awesome speakers. Peice of cake.

You had me up until "bought a legal copy of vista" Legal or no, why would anyone pay money for that?? Didn't they at least offer you Windows 7?

Vista is no good? So far it is working well. I only bought the upgrade. This PC came with 2000. The upgrade was only $100.
Overall, my 'free' PC $210. I can't complain. I was just happy to do it myself.
