I received an email from Giancarlo saying that he is finishing up the new Nosound album. All of the recording sessions are almost finished and he's begun mixing the album.
It looks like there will (hopefully) be official Lightdark shirts available soon too.
Giancarlo has also been working hard on the new album with Tim Bowness (a separate project) which will be released this year as well.
There should be official news on the KScope site soon. Work is progressing and Giancarlo has been very busy with these albums for the past year or so.

PRE ORDER NOOOOOW!!!The album is available for pre-order! Formed in Italy in 2001, Giancarlo Erra's Nosound create a seductive and original fusion of elements of progressive, ambient and post rock. Regarded by critics and fans alike as one of the most interesting up and coming art rock bands in Europe, ‘A Sense Of Loss’ is Nosound's follow up to 2008’s ‘Lightdark’ and builds on its predecessor by introducing a more alternative post-rock element to Nosound’s ever evolving sound. Giancarlo describes the album as a ‘move from the classic 'rock' (or rock ambient) approach used in Lightdark to a more unique sound, with influences from more contemporary alt and post rock.’ To create this sound the band used less synths (any that were used were almost all a strict selection of vintage synth sounds) and more real instruments including a string quartet, leading to ‘an even more emotional recording than Lightdark’. Erra goes on to state, ‘The overall production and sound have moved to a more 'natural' overall sound, combined with some different sounds and approaches, a little far from Lightdark, but still distinctively Nosound (probably more now than before).’ The album was written, recorded, produced, mixed and mastered at Nosound Studio (Rome) by Giancarlo Erra. Additional production was by Paolo Martellacci, Gigi Zito, Alessandro Luci, Paolo Vigliarolo. Additional recordings made at PanPot Studio (Rome) by Gigi Zito and Diapason Studio (Rome) by Simone Satta. This 2 disc edition of the album includes a DVD containing 5.1 surround and 24bit mixes of the album, video footage, picture gallery and more. ONLINE EXCLUSIVE - ALL COPIES PREORDERED THROUGH THIS STORE COME WITH AN EXCLUSIVE SIGNED POSTCARD Classic Rock - 'More great stuff from new label Kscope.’ Preorder now - shipping from 12th October

pre ordered also special for the 5.1 mix. Hopefully they put it in a digibook, like Porcupine Tree' s Signify, C.D. and L.S. and Blackfields re-print of NY live cd/dvd Maybe there are people hoping also for a 5.1 mix of Lightdark it will be great if Giancarlo get enough benefits of the new one

I send a mail a few days before to Giancarlo, about the Lightdark 5.1, and wrote this:
Yes I'm thinking about remixing in 5.1 also Lightdark, not sure about Sol29 as could be for me more difficult considering the original starting material. I think that depending on the sales of the new album we'll be able to ask Kscope for a new print of Lighdark with 5.1 included...let me know how many would like it.. I have to say that mixing ASOL in 5.1 pointed out that everything seems more clear in 5.1, in particular involving strings etc..

I received ASOL yesterday. I am just on my 4th listen. I like it so far, very melancholy with subtle melodies, beautiful atmosphere. I know as I continue listening there will be more heard... too soon to say which are my favorite tracks.
The signed card is very nice.
One thing of note for me (not a criticism), I love Giancarlo's guitar solos. They are very emotional, beautiful and moving to me. Especially on Sol29 and some on Lightdark. Nothing much going on here for solos... still a wonderful release.
